Publication of the edited book "What Really Works in the English Classroom"

Balkan University Press is pleased to share with you the edited book, titled "What Really Works in the English Classroom", which is part of the Education, Linguistics, and Literature series. The book is edited by Prof. Dr. Ana Kechan and Assoc. Prof. Igballe Miftari-Fetishi.
This edited volume explores the evolving landscape of language education, emphasizing the integration of AI, technology, literature, and culture into pedagogy. It presents diverse methodologies, from traditional approaches like translation and dictation to modern strategies such as peer learning, AI-driven modeling, and drama-based teaching. The book highlights the importance of an eclectic, student centered approach in the post-method era, allowing educators to adapt flexibly to students’ needs. Covering frameworks like the Action-oriented Approach and Communicative Language Teaching, it equips teachers with innovative tools to foster linguistic competence and cultural awareness in an increasingly interconnected world.
The foreward is written by Letizia Cignanotto , PhD from the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Italy. According to her "The chapters of this book should be able to nurture language professionals' ability to harmoniously balance the traditional and new, allowing development of dynamic, engaging learning environments that provide linguistic and cultural fluency in support of individuals needing to operate naturally in an interdependent world. It does this by being mindful of the students' diverse learning preferences, cognitive processes, and strategies in an ongoing adjustment to language in its ever-changing process due to globalization, technology, and changes within society."
